Meet Max Coates
Primex is entering it's 10th year supporting and sponsoring Yorkshireman Max Coates in his racing endeavors. Regular British Touring Car Championship fans will be familiar with Max's name as he has competed in more support classes than any other during his car racing career stating in 2010. He is now competing in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB.
In 2016 he raced in the Renault UK Clio Cup and was crowned Graduate Champion as well as finishing 3rd overall. In his debut season he took one win, six more podiums, eleven graduate cup wins, eighteen graduate cup podiums, two poles positions, two fastest laps and was the only driver to finish in the top ten in every race of the season. The success continued in 2017 with another two wins, several podiums, pole positions and fastest laps leading to a 4th place championship finish. Max lead for the majority of the 2018 season winning four races with multiple championship-winning team Pyro Motorsport. He ended 3rd in the championship. For 2019 Max ran his own team under the Team HARD. Racing banner taking 9 race wins enroute to 2nd in the series.
2020, 21 and 22 saw Max race in the MINI CHALLENGE and was a serial front-runner although he never claimed a top spot in the overall championship rankkings.
Now Max is racing in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB enjoying podium finishes in the first event of the season at Donington Park.
Away from the track Max runs a race team and marketing agency, High Row Motorsport and High Row Marketing. He is a qualified race coach and instructor and is regularly in attendance at tracks all over the UK.

Porsche Sprint Challenge GB
This exciting championship adds an important tier to the Porsche Motorsport Pyramid in Great Britain, providing a new entry point and additional opportunities for aspiring race drivers.
Porsche Sprint Challenge Great Britain has generated huge interest, from new and existing drivers and teams plus fans alike. Its status as a one-make championship will ensure action-packed racing from the start as driver skill is, once again, placed centre stage.
Attracting both amateur and professional drivers competing in identical Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport cars, the championship will run two competitive categories: Pro and Am. While both will race on the same grid, each category will have its own points structure and championship table.
In addition to fantastic end of season prizes, other benefits of the championship include unrivalled national media exposure, TV and online live streaming coverage, increased fan engagement and greater sponsorship opportunities.
About the Renault UK Clio Cup
Porsche 718 Cayman GT4
Powering the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport is a 3.8-litre flat-six engine producing 313 kW (425 hp). Compared to its predecessor, this represents a 40-hp increase in performance. The power is transferred to the rear wheels via a Porsche dual-clutch gearbox with six gears and mechanical rear axle differential lock. The lightweight spring-strut front suspension is taken from its big 911 GT3 Cup brother. The impressive racing brake system features steel brake discs all round measuring 380-millimetres in diameter. Tipping the scales at 1,320 kilograms, the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport, delivered ex-works with a welded-in safety cage, a racing bucket seat as well as a six-point harness, is a real lightweight.

Team HARD. Racing will be entering the final ever season of the Renault UK Clio Cup in 2019. Multiple Clio Cup race winner Max Coates will be partnered with 2018 BTCC racer Ethan Hammerton.
Team HARD. Racing is a British motor racing team based in Dartford, Kent and founded by Tony Gilham. As well as racing in the Renault UK Clio Cup they also have a 4 car team in the British Touring Car Championship.
