International Trade Summit, 2019

Via our work with the British Chamber of Commerce, Primex was invited to attend this years International Trade Summit, held in London.

It was a day filled with speakers from the world of Business and Politics with the aim of passing on their insight of global trade, exporting tips and also their views on the current market conditions.

As expected, there was lots to learn from the event and plenty of networking to do. The event was host to small and large businesses alike, from every sector across the country.

With 60% of companies recognising Brexit as a major threat to business, the main theme, “Trading Through Uncertainty” set the scene for much of the discussions of the day. Many business leaders discussed their plans for a potential Brexit, and it was interesting to note how other industries are preparing for the event.

There was also an interesting appearance from one brave minister, Graham Stuart, Conservative Minister for Investment at the Department for International Trade, who arrived to talk about trade & investment; though on another day filled of Brexit news, he was ever so slightly sidetracked. He talked about the Conservative's plans for future trade, specifically development of UK exporting within Europe, and in the Rest of the World; taking time to discuss some of the trade deals he was involved in negotiating across the world.

Though, even by the time of writing this blog post, the political landscape has changed dramatically, it was an interesting opportunity to hear from the Government on their Political views and aims

Overall, a good day and a further opportunity for Primex to place itself at the forefront of British trade.
