Primex-sponsored mountain bike athlete, Liam Clement, returned in April after an incredible five-month period of riding, training, and competing in New Zealand. During his time there, he collaborated with his bike sponsor, Merida, to produce a fantastic film documenting his trip, titled "Value Range: Liam Clement in New Zealand."
Following his return, Liam embarked on an ambitious European road trip, heading to Pietra Ligure, Italy, and Bielska Biala, Poland. These stops were for the first two rounds of the UCI WHOOP Enduro World Championship.
In Italy, Liam faced challenging terrain and mixed weather over two days of practice followed by two intense days of racing. He rode exceptionally well, finishing just outside the points in his debut in the Men’s Elite class event. The Poland event, held in very cold, winter-like conditions, started strong for Liam on the first stage. However, an unfortunate crash on the second stage led to a disappointing early retirement due to a heavy impact to his elbow.
Despite the setback in Poland, Liam has bounced back impressively since returning to the UK. He's recently competed in three major competitions, securing excellent podium finishes:
P3 – Scottish Enduro Series Rd 2 (British Championship), Innerleithen
P2 Overall – Ard Moors Enduro (out of 900 competitors)
P1 in Class and P2 Overall – Isle of Man Manx Enduro / Rd 3 British Championship
A massive thank you goes out for the continued support from Primex European Division, Merida Bikes, Royal Racing, Smith Optics UK, 7Idp protection, Sendhit, and Danny Hart's Descend Bike Park – all of whom play a crucial role in making Liam's achievements possible.
