The recent third round of the Danny Hart Descend Bike Park Winter Downhill MTB race series saw Primex European Division proudly step up as its headline sponsor.
Located in Hamsterley Forest, just a short twenty-minute drive from the Primex factory, the bike park is a popular destination for mountain bike riders across the North East. Run by the family of two-time World Champion Danny Hart, the park is also seeing a fantastic surge in young riders taking to the trails.
After a morning of free practice, a full roster of 120 competitors tackled the challenging 1-minute, 30-second track. Featuring a thrilling mix of jumps, rocky shoots, and root-strewn berms, each rider completed two timed runs, with their fastest time determining their final position. It was particularly inspiring to witness a strong contingent of youth riders, some as young as 10, fearlessly taking on the same demanding course as the adult racers.
The day culminated with local Adult Elite rider Adam Biggins from Birtley securing the fastest time overall. Close behind him was Scottish Youth rider Monty Palmer (in the 15-16 year category), showcasing incredible talent. The top female rider of the day was local Bird Cycleworks factory rider Hollie Vayro, demonstrating impressive skill and speed.
The deserving winners were presented with their trophies by Primex European Division Manufacturing Manager Gary Clement. Primex were happy to support the event and show our commitment to local events and the thriving mountain biking community in the region.
